LITTLE KNITS

Miss J's sweater is done.  I love to knit, but question why, whenever it comes time to sew all those pieces together.  I really hate  dislike that part.

The yarn is an organic cotton I picked up last year

If I can keep the momentum going, I have fabric for a little dress to go with this. Perhaps for birthday #2 in April ?

and because naked needles are no good, I have started a hat for one of my boys. He asked me for something to keep his dreadlocks in. I'm happy to oblige. Trust me.

wool is Peruvian Wool and Baby Alpaca

That cardie is gorgeous! I also really dislike sewing up knitting/crochet but love sewing fabric - I can't work out why!

'Tis a sweet cardy, Carla. I so agree, knitting needles need to be dressed with warm and cuddly wool. Good luck with containing those dreadlocks!!

Gosh that sweater is so cute, -love the detail along the bottom edge. Looks pretty sitting on that quilt too!
And then a stretchy wool hat to cover your sons dreads....I see you're getting right on that haha.

The littl cardi is just gorgeous! I love both the colour and the little pointed edge just makes it so special - i have never been able to knit, and this is so sweet it makes me wish for the patience and skill to do so!
I'm sure your son will love his hat - the wool is a great colour.

It's really beautiful, Carla! Such a darling little cardigan too...I'm sure it's always worth it in the end.

Thanks for sharing. Hope you're enjoying the winter.

Saw this on IG, the sweater is so very sweet! Yes, seaming together knitted pieces is no fun, especially sleeves. There's lots of 'knit in one piece' patterns, maybe you should look for those!! :)

I prefer to not have to sew seams, I'll look for top down and knit in the round patterns and I'll often pick up stitches at the arm opening rather than have to try and fit a sleeve in after. . .but sometimes a pattern is just too pretty :) gorgeous little cardi!

Heh! I never thought of it that way, but you're right -- it's strange that I like to sew, but hate seaming up knits! :D

Love Love Love your little knitted sweater!!! I'm with you, the finishing details on just about anything are my least favorite tasks .... hemming a garment, borders and binding on a quilt, weaving in the ends or sewing up a seam on a knitted project. Ugh!!! But it's so worth it when the project is done and so lovely :)
